ISO 22000:2018 certification

It goes without saying that, when handling food, strict regulations and requirements are a necessity. With this in mind, HANOS operates according to all required standards and certifications, viz. the ISO 22000 standard (2018). These quality certificates reflect that everything we say about the optimal condition of our products is completely reliable.

What is ISO 22000:2018?

Over the past few decades, an increasing number of countries have come to the realisation that safe food and food hygiene should be self-evident issues from a public health perspective. De 'Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point' or HACCP system had already been introduced, but proved to be insufficient for the entire trajectory. ISO 22000:2018 is comprehensive and integrates the HACCP principles, but goes a number of steps further than that. It is a quality management system.

Tested on various aspects

The aspects taken into account when testing this standard are customer orientation, involvement, process and system approach, tracking and tracing, and calamity management. Obviously, these aspects are periodically tested. All this with a view to supply safe food products to you, our customer.

Food hygiene at HANOS

All HANOS wholesalers have this certificate. The support and control for compliance with this quality system rests with an independent quality department, which works closely with the various institutions and services. Listed below please find the certificates which we have made digitally available:

BIO Certificate

For the production, storage, sale and import of organic products, a BIO certificate is a mandatory requirement. The SKAL Foundation is the controlling body in the Netherlands that monitors whether companies place products with an 'organic' label on the market in a demonstrable and reliable manner. For this purpose, the use of chemical pesticides, E numbers and GMO, among others, are not allowed or only to a limited extent so that products are kept as pure as possible.

Corporate social responsibility

As a family business and leading international catering wholesaler, we have traditionally been closely involved in the living and working environment of our employees and customers. This is important to us and has our constant attention. We believe that we can only really improve the world together. Starting by getting the best out of ourselves every day. It's therefore natural for us to contribute to the sustainable development of society. Being a sustainable business means having transparent objectives to offer even better products. Our customers rightly expect the same from us. In recent years, the demand for urgent action on climate change has grown louder. Society as a whole, from customers to suppliers to governments, has recognised the need to increase global efforts to address climate change. HANOS shares this sense of urgency. We continue to take action on many fronts, including tackling our own emissions and offering more and more sustainably produced products in our “I Cook Consciously” range.

Together with our subsidiaries (Kaja, Fourcroy, Van Gestel, Studio Senses, Ebo van den Bor, Jan van As, Van der Zee, Gastro Loods, Distrivers and Daily Fresh Food), we delve into the wishes of the customer and the latest trends and advise them on matters such as furnishing, energy-efficient equipment and menus featuring local and sustainably produced ingredients, with input from our culinary advisors.

But investing in employees is also on top of the agenda at HANOS. We believe it's very important that employees feel at home at HANOS. Making that happen, of course, depends on several factors, such as the company culture and the possibilities for personal development.
